So it's 346am on a Wednesday morning...

and I decided to blog what I had missed! Been sleeping LP timing (6am this morning for yesterday's sleep) but sleeping 8 hours (not so LP-encouraged)! Reason I slept so late yesterday was because I wanted to complete this photo album which I was doing for the wedding in September. I wanted to make it into a professional album, and thought the masterpiece was out at 6am in the morning of Tuesday, but turned out, I needed to do more edits! And thus, I am still awake till now. Want to make sure everything is OK before I zip it to WY for his comments. The Zipping takes forever! And in the midst, I'm just doing some deco stuff for the NYE Countdown RETRO Party this THURSDAY!

So to update...

27 Dec, Sun - The day was spent watching some shows! I'm so thankful for PPLive! So many shows it's amazing. And the streaming is so damn fast. Only downside is that you can only search in chinese characters, but that's easy really. Just google-CN-ed for it. Anyway, I caught G Force while doing my uRobic! The guinea pigs are sooooo cute! Met Yuyin for dinner at Don's for some sinful Crab Bee Hoon. Nice, and I really missed it so much! Sihui and Guobin joined us as well. Had the Koi Bubble tea, this time tried the passion fruit flavor, not bad. And brought Lim Chee Guan's Bak Kwa! Reminds me of WY everytime. He loves it so much. Well, buy for my dad. He loves to munch while watching teevo. Will be many months before I see YY next. She's heading back home to Malacca then KL to work. She's such a great friend and I will miss her so much! Can't wait to visit her too!

28 Dec, Mon - Met Gin for a movie at JP. Yup, chipmunks her favourite. We got there like 45 mins early and was told they only had single tickets, with front row seats! So I sat on first row, and Gin, directly behind me on the second. Lucky the distance was still endurable. The show, like all chipmunks show, is OK. But I thought the first episode was slightly better. The Squeakuel was of course, as expected, with lots of squeaking.

Met Andrew and passed him the Symbols book at Bt Gombak MRT after. WY was so embarrassed to lend the book to him because he included some sweet nothings (Oh...) on the first page before sending it back to me to read. And the sweet nothings included spoilers too, which sort of don't make it a priority now. Haha. Anyway, so sweet of him. =*

Went to Granny's house after and went for a run. Been a month since I last ran and was a little stretched after the 4km run. I should seriously run more. Been eyeing this nike chip thing, shall consider it after I've chalked up my miles. If not, a waste of money. Had dinner at Granny's and heard her complain for about 1.5 hrs non-stop. Hai, sometimes I really wonder what's the best solution for her. After hearing what my aunt said, I guess they are in the process of making some arrangements again. It's really hard to manage when understandings cannot be achieved. Well, well.. maybe she just needed someone to listen, or maybe she should just honestly say what she feels. I think she's holding back and at the same time assuming people would just know how she feels. Isn't this the same with everyone around, regardless of age. We are often holding back what we feel because we do not want to look bad by voicing out, but at the same time, we hope people will just get it, because you get it. It's funny isn't it. Who's the best person to understand? You of course. How can you expect another person who is not you to wholly understand what you feel or do? Maybe in some situations, but definitely not all. And it's in these loopholes that the person with the expectations get discouraged. Weird world. It's all one big circle. Alright.. I digressed.

And this is the day I was busying myself with the photoalbum making program from just1book.com.sg and slept at 6am on Tuesday while making the wedding album! (I completed and I'm so proud of myself!) WY and I officially have a new hobby! But we'll keep it to one album per year. Hah.

29 Dec, Tue - And I woke up at 1pm! Scary. Had to call Soon to update him and was so embarrassed when he exclaimed that I just woke up. Wait! What do I have to be embarrassed about???!!! Anyway, he set some homework for me to do which is 80% completed. Met with SC, Daji and Zm for costume shopping after. Ate at Benten at Iluma and they have these huge mugs of ice-cream. Shall go try it when WY comes back! Not too sure if he can finish the SGD38.80 sundae!

Walked around Bugis street for costumes for the guys. Realised their stuff are damn cheap and styles are rather up to date. In the next year of diminishing income, I shall shop there instead! Daji shopped! He shopped so much he wanted to incorporate more gear! I always thought he was joking when he said he liked pink. And guess what, he LOVES pink. Hah. He will be wearing a super loud costume that day! Shall take pics and upload!

So now it's 411am and I've finished sending all the stuff and the required for today. So I shall go and let my body take a rest. I hope the fat will dissipate during the sleep too. Haha.

Fast week!

It has been a long and fast week! I spent so much time outside I don't remember coming home early. Hah.

21 Dec - Woke up with a super backache! (What a way to start the week, and it is still pain! I don't understand how the comfortable bed can do that??) Went amore for a massage and like all days when I go, they tried to psycho me again. This time, a better deal, but still, no $$$ already. Went to do some grocery shopping for WY, this time bought snacks, and I bought quite abit. Haha. Then went to his place for the soup that his mum cooked, which was supposed to warm my "ah hem". Nice of his mum to do that, but I had to finish an entire pot of soup. It's a little too much. Met JX for dinner at West Mall's KFC. Had the black pepper chicken! So nice!!!! Spicy and good! Lucky don't taste like black pepper at all. Highly recommended! Want to try it again though, but yesterday ZM said he tried it and had diarrhea. Funny.

22 Dec - 冬至today! (Think I got the chinese character wrong, but it sounds the same can liao). And I didn't have any 汤圆! So sad. The MCW assisting finished so early today, but when I came back, my parents were asleep already. So it's another year of no 汤圆. Come to think of it, how many years have I not eat 汤圆 already?! I haven't grow!!! No wonder always look so young. Hahaha. I bought this enormous box of roundtree candies from NTUC today, and was so hooked to it that I was distracted during assisting! Bad! But the candies are nice. Haha. But think I should refrain from getting it. I munch on it non-stop! And candies make my sugar level go haywire. Wouldn't want an episode of hunger fainting again. Had the kidney soup at Bt Merah Hawker Centre again! So unhealthy and sinful!!! (Some of you might really find it yucky, haha)

23 Dec - Ran quite abit of errands before meeting possum today! Finally returned the library book, which I totally forgot! Went to Chinatown to alter my clothes, and met Possum (on time!) at Orchard MRT! We went for our High Tea Tai Tai session at Royal Coppenhagen. Hahaha. Ordered so much that we couldn't finish! The christmas set was quite good, just that the pasta is a little je lat. Shopped a little with Possum and got a gift for Yuqin's MCW Graduation Party later, which the theme was black. (And I'm glad the only pic of me that ppl posted in FB looked nice. It's always scary when ppl just post and tag. Hai. And worse, it's always pics that looked really tired and forlorn.) Party was OK but the food was fantastic! Kelvin Yeo got this mee goreng from dunno where and it was so good I had double portions! Yuqin drove me to her place after and collected my Christmas present from WY. A precious moment gift! Limited edition too! 5000 worldwide.

Nice right... =D
I took the car next and drove Gin back to my home. Baking for tomorrow and we want to have an early start! And guess what, I went to have a car wash and it rained the next morning! Bummer!

24 Dec - The eve!!! Headed very early to the NTUC at JP and got the grocery for baking. Had KFC breakfast before that, not too fantastic. Decided to return the car back to WY's sis, cos I realised the parking is gonna cost, and I have no idea how to drive to Jeanette's party! This time we baked brownie, with the recipe provided by Aunt Sharon, and the cookie recipe I found on the web. I really wanted to personalised the cookies with the names of the people attending the party, ended up the first batch was badly burnt and the icing didn't look that nice after all. So it was just cookies with chocolate piping. But the reviews were great! Plus, our brownie was fantastic too! Hahaha. Jeanette's sis started this new business where she sold glamorous dresses, and I had a chance to try a few. So nice! But no occasion to wear also. Shall go find an occasion to wear. Hahaha. We had some fun playing rabids on Wii and taboo. Quite a good time spending christmas eve. And guess what, Qijia gave me the Billy Joel's CD. Hahahaha. All thanks to WY =*

25 Dec - Christmas day! But today was different, cos WY is not here. It's our 9th Anniversary too. Wah, it's been a long time! Went IMM with my parents for chicken rice, bought quite abit of hair products. Haha. Then met Sihui at Vivo for dinner at Jpot! Nice. The ingredients are so much fresher than Xian De Lai, but somehow the feeling is different. Not as warm. Got my presents, the BLP books I had to read for the next 3 months. =X and Sihui said my birthday present would be the further 3 books for the next next 3 months. Peng. Had fun shopping around! Bought YY's gift too - some mask where you can do up to the chin! I got some for myself too. And bought this ultra big Eeyore from Mini Toons! So cheap SGD29.90! Msged if WY could get it for me and he said OK! (Anyway I got the toy even before he said OK...haha, but at least someone buys a soft toy for you. It's a little weird to buy for yourself! Ok.. other than Yao Zai) Bought some lingerie too, so spent a bomb! Oops. It is entirely a spending christmas!

26 Dec - Met YY & ZM for lunch at Sushi Tei @ Taka! Realised I've been ordering a lot of food lately. Oh wait, I don't mean just ordering, eating as well. Tsk Tsk. Then we walked around and shopped for some stuff. YY prefers to shop in SG than Malaysia, she says more stuff. Been about 3 months since she's left Singapore. Hope she comes back soon! Supposed to head to a BBQ that was organized by Doris & Huifen, ended up Doris said it's raining heavily and the BBQ was cancelled, and so we made other plans. Then about 2 hrs later, she msged and said BBQ to proceed, and we sort of rejected, cos was already planning to watch a (horrible) movie. Went Bugis and looked for stuff for the party. YY wanted to get a mask for her company's D&D, and I was basically just looking around. Ended up, like usual, only I got stuff. Bad! Got a wig for the retro party! Which is so damn cool I shall not divulge until the pics come out! We went for the fish steamboat and headed for movie with ZM after, who joined us after meeting his friends, also at Bugis. And the movie sucked BIG TIME! No PLOT! At all! We were still trying to figure out what was really happening. It's like they took solo shots here and there and sort of trash them all together and call it a movie! CHEAP!!! Not good. And what's the movie? It stars one of my favourite singer (which is OK btw) and a supermodel from Taiwan, something about a treasure hunt. OMG.. the supermodel act like in advertisement like that. I was laughing at some parts, and literally rolling my eyes at the other parts. So was the same for ZM and YY. SO DON'T WATCH!

So now it's Sunday! And I have no plans, and I'm still waiting for plans to come up. Haha. Shall see.

The procrastinating weeks!

This is bad, it doesn't mean I have been procrastinating doing things for these past 3 weeks..but well, maybe a little procrastination. But, I was really lagging on updating the blog, which I've set out to update daily. So I shall sum them all up in a gist!

2 Dec - Went to the afternoon jap class. Rather weird, cos the whole class were women! Which I later reckoned to be Tai Tais. Only there are free enough for afternoon class. Haha. And WY said I was training to be a Tai Tai. Which perhaps I just might! Met DX for dinner after, went Ootoya again. This time we didn't order this much!

3 Dec - Watched Mulan that day with my parents. The show that made me cried so much! Gross. I was seriously crying alot. The show was OK, but somehow I cried...ALOT! Came back and started doing WY's present, of which I spent close to 9 hrs with my bum on the hard floor. Seriously hard work! And I'm glad he received it and loved it as much as I do! Oh! And Daddy got me this electric candle light burner. He said I would find it useful since I sleep with night light! So nice!

4 Dec - Think I did nothing much for this day. Headed down for the POS Creation meeting, and before that supposed to go for the MCW Meeting and I didn't turn up! Anyway, had a nice supper with Sihui @ Thai Express after, and we headed to Club Chinois @ Clark Quay for drinks after. It was a long night!

5 Dec - Cousin Andrew's Wedding! Woke up at 730am and headed for his place after. He only held a church wedding, but it was the most touching wedding I went. It was sweet and especially tearful when Andrew said his thanks to his dad (my uncle in law) who had been waiting for him to get married. And his dad was only recently discharged from the hospital from a 3rd stroke I think! And all went well, thanks to God Almighty, that Uncle in law had the health to attend his son's wedding! I swore everyone in the church cried! Headed down for curry party at SC. Well, it was only a party of 4, and the curry was good! Serving was super huge. Haha. Had some guitar hero session, and this is the earliest it ended! 11pm. WOW.

6 Dec - JX came to view the new house today. Diana came along too. Had a good discussion about how the house is gonna be like, and I'm so excited to view the mood pics, which I presume will come out in Feb! Went to WY's place and dump his presents, the grocery he wanted (and it includes RICE! Yes 5kg of RICE and I lugged it to his place along with many other things!) Met PF @ Bukit Panjang Plaza and had some dinner and damn good follow up!

7 Dec - I don't remember what I did today. But I did something!

8 Dec - Watched Beauty & the Beast with DX!!! First time watching theatre without WY. It was quite a kiddy production I think, but well, not too bad!

9 Dec - This was a bz day! Met Doris for lunch at Raffles Place, had a good time catching up! Had a not so nice Vietnamese lunch and then I'm off to Chinatown for the auntie that alter my clothes! Collected my clothes and headed down to Vivo to get some stuff. Walked around (and of course shopped!) for about 2 hrs before heading down to JOO CHIAT for MCW assisting! I can't believe it's Joo Chiat and I made my way down myself! For the first time!!! Haha. And guess what.. the assisting ended at 3am!!! Luckily Shihua drove me back after. Nice!

10 Dec - Met Gin early in the morn and set out for Orchard. It was quite a fun and unexpected day. Unexpected in the sense it was funner than usual. Haha. Went Taka and had lunch at KFC, went Cold Storage and shopped for some Meiji choc stuff (for Gin!) Valene met us after and we started towards 313@Somerset for the Uniqlo sale! Then after we went UrbanWrite and got some really great scrapbooking stuff! Not too many varieties but the stuff's cheaper! Had starbucks before Valene met Nathan for movie and Gin and I headed down to Wisma to shop abit before going down IKEA! And it was a super long day, and super stressing on the pockets!

11 Dec - Went for POS helpout and it lasted the whole entire day! Took the bus to Henderson on my own!!! Hahahaha. Now I know how to get there on my own by public transport! Erm.. besides the cab.

12 Dec - Visited Cui's house today!! So nicely done. And saw XiuXiu! The dog is simply so nice. She has that sad doled eye which made it so irresistible! Going to her house was a little out of the blue. Initially, I was asking directions to go to Ryan's house (which is located at Buangkok) and was asking Cui if there was any bus that goes that. And she said her new place is just next to the condo Ryan is staying so I went up to have a look! Went to Ryan's place for the TCC BBQ and the turnout was like only 6 of us - Ryan, Ava, Ava's Sis (who has freaking long legs btw), Lorraine, Lorraine's husband and Zee (which is me btw). But it was great catching up! Had a peek at Ryan's place and it was immaculate! I really mean immaculate, and this was freaking me out. This guy is so NEAT!

13 Dec - Went church for the first time in many months! Realised the old church changed alot! Headed down to the Akira Sale with Gin and got this hand held blender at a cheap price of SGD19.90. Hah!Met up with my SAJC Classmates (for the first time in many years!) @ taka in the evening. Decided to drive there, and I was glad I did! (My parents left for Genting and I pretty much had the car to myself for the next few days!!!) There were only about 10 people there, and finally all of them left except for Zhichao, Junjie and John. People whom I was really close to when I was in JC. Drove Zhichao and John home and had a really good chat with Zhichao as he was the last to drop off. It was really nice! This lockermate of mine never fail to make conversation great!

14 Dec - Drove to Citihall and had lunch with Brandon! He saw me and exclaimed I look younger! (Doris mentioned that when I met her too btw..hehehe) He said he should quit his job and I looked radiant. HOHOHOHO. Anyway, had a good lunch with him at Soup Spoon. He finally tried something else other than Tokyo Stew. Haha. Then I shopped for the ingredients for the cake before heading down to Granny place to bake! The cake was horrible!!!! Somehow it just didn't cooked properly. Was so upset. Lucky we baked pineapple cookies as well. Headed down to meet Chee Hoe to clear up some stuff about BLP and got him some cookies (which were mainly baked by Gin). Haha, tasted good actually. I initially thought the day was bad because of my spoilt cake, but guess what, not too bad after all!

15 Dec - Decided to try to bake the cake again! This time met Gin and head for Orchard to buy some Christmas stuff before heading back to her home to bake. We concluded the cake from the day before was spoilt because of the oven at my granny's house. Guess what, this time the cake was fantastic!!!! HAHAHA. I'm so proud of myself! Had dinner cooked by Gin's dad (my uncle) and it was great! So nice to have a stay home dad (who can cook! I must emphasize this!)

16 Dec - Went IKEA with my family and had lunch over there. Had the chicken curry that I liked but somehow it tasted a little different. Meaning not as nice. Hah. Met PF for a short dinner. First time heading down to Bt Merah Hawker Centre and the food is really not bad! Assisted for MCW after and lasted a little earlier than previous. Hah.

17 Dec - Went for Mani Pedi in the morning and colored my nails purplish blue! Then met Zhiyuan for a quick lunch before meeting my parents for Bodyguards & Assassins (the movie). The show is a little slow, but so many great casts! Met my mom's maternal family for dinner at Sakura @ Jurong Stadium after. It was to celebrate Uncle Jack's birthday so he treated. He's going Las Vegas for holiday with his wife tomorrow! So nostalgic. I wanna go back too!!!! Went to do some Christmas Deco assisting that night and had super late supper with PF and Huimin. And PF was dozing off at the table. Haha.

18 Dec - Went shopping with my mom!!! Got some clothes from G2000. They have some sale or something. Went for some sure-win lucky dip and I got 5 audio technical earphones out of 9. Peng. Anyway heard they were pretty cheap (my bro checked it's like 20 bucks each!) and I had wanted to win the TV for the new house. HAHAHA. Bought this super red laptop bag too. It's really red! Went for BLP briefing after and went back home to zzz. I'm so proud I've been driving alot!!! And my Dad's Camry. Haha.

19 Dec - Went for Jap class. It's the final jap class for the part 2 of part 1 beginners' level. And I'm so disappointed with myself that I don't seem to learn alot. I haven't been revising and shall use these next 2 weeks to catch up before the next lesson starts! Met with DX and walked around Bugis the whole day after that! Shopped for the party stuff and I got this slinky blue glamorous dress which will showcase my tummy (HAI!) and this retro lighting which is so 70s show. Hahaha. I'm so excited about it!

20 Dec - Christmas party at Granny's! And the food was fantastic! The present I got from the exchange was Loccitane. This is the good part. The bad part is, the product is for men. =( Gin, Vivienne, Sheann (all my cousins) and my uncle in law Say Heng joined me for Avatar after. Before that we had our share of quirky new prints which are so much cheaper than the ones I took with Gin before! 4 bucks cheaper!!! Avatar was good!!! The graphics was fantastic! I don't think the tv screen will get that much hype you know. The only downside, my bum was hurting. Haha.

And here I am typing down what I did for about 20 days! So much procrastination. This coming week will be different as well. And I'm rather excited about it! 5 days more to 9th year anniversary! And I can't wait for the surprises!!!!

Vietnam Part 2

27 Nov (Day 3) - This day was spent mostly on the coach, which isn't too bad. I had my fair bit of sleep in Vietnam, although a little too much. Hah. First destination was a 3-hr drive away from Ho Chi Minh City! We went to the Cu Chi Tunnels, a strategic fort used by the Viet Cong Guerillas during the Vietnam War. We tried getting into the tunnels ourselves and the amazing part is, the tunnels have already been expanded so tourists could fit in. Before that, they were really really tiny. It's crazy that the Viet Congs were really people with slim built, plus food was scarce during that time and they had to fight! The tunnels were a little claustrophoby though. Not for the faint hearted. You could only see the person's ass in front of you if you brought a torch along, and you have to duck walk all the time throughout.

We had lunch at this nice garden after, where there were lots of soon-to-be newly weds taking pictures. It's crazy. It's like there are so many people getting married and the garden was filled with photo-taking brides and grooms. Guess this is the only place nice for taking pictures. Hah. Looks like chinese garden really, nothing fantastic.

We proceeded on another long journey to Vung Tau after, a coastal fishing village which is really nice. At least the miserable traffic was a plus point. Hah. We were driven in trishaws and had a mini tour around the area. The guide got us to a fruit stall and we got some longans and they were fantastic. Quite a recommended place to go. I think the best part of the trip was here. Sort of reminded me a little of Kending in Taiwan. Had some seafood dinner (tiny seafood) and headed for a night market, which erm.. is not really any market. It's quite dead..

Headed to our hotel after, and it was a horrible hotel! We thought the one in the city was not too good but this was worse. Well anyway, just for one nite. At least there's cable tv. Hah.

28 Nov (Day 4) - Woke up at 530am and headed down to the beach (right across the hotel) and watched the sunrise. There were quite a bit of people at the beach and was a really peaceful morning. The only regret - in the midst of rushing down for the sunrise, I forgot to bring the camera. The air was cold and the sand was really fine. Walked into the water and I just remembered the times I had in Santa Monica, carefree and nice. Really want to go back to LA. =) *hint hint*

We had a quick breakfast and went to Jesus Monument Mountain, which is at close proximity to the hotel. This is the best part of the trip! At least I get to exercise a bit plus I get to see a really great view from the top of the mountain! (a hill actually) haha. It was really amazing! Recommended place to go. I was perspiring when I reached the top, but it was quite an achievement and I enjoyed every minute of it. Next we headed to a guanyin temple, a summer palace of the previous emperor, which surprisingly looked a little lacklustre, and a whale temple where there were carcasses of whales!!!

We check back to the hotel to collect our belongings and headed for lunch, and thereafter, towards the city. Went to a furniture shop (boring!) and then to the "Orchard Road" of Ho Chi Minh, where we saw a parliament house turned theatre, the Ho Chi Minh monument. We went to the night market as well where I supposedly tried the best spring roll in Ho Chi Minh. Had pho as well.. not bad. Lastly, headed for dinner and the funny thing was, there is this company dinner at the restaurant we were eating and the employees were singing! Including the boss! They kind of went up and sang along. Haha. Vietnamese can really sing!!! We had our share of laughter. Not too bad to end the trip.

29 Nov (Day 5) - Had breakfast and we headed to the airport. I didn't realised this when I touch down but the airport looks really clean and slate. And it's really quite nice it's architecture. So, will I go there Vietnam again? I should think not, but well.. hard to say.

Vietnam Part 1

I've always had a dislike for packaged tours mainly because I'm a free person. I don't like to be controlled unless there's a need. And when fun and travel comes in, it's definitely not good to be restricted in my opinion. But, since it's a family trip, it would really be better with a packaged tour. So no squabbling and arguing where to go you see. Everything is fixed by someone else. Hah!

25 Nov (Day 1) - A maxi cab came for us for departure at Budget terminal. It was the first time I'm there and it's really budget. Kind of like the feeling of walking down the strip directly. Haha. What I'm apprehensive was, smaller planes tend to jerk harder in times of turbulence, but I'm REALLY GLAD that Tiger Airways had really good pilots. The pilot is hilarious the way he made his introduction. Somehow it made me relaxed a little. I've always had this fear about flight ever since the trip to Taiwan on China Airlines when the plane dropped for that few seconds! Gross.

Reached Ho Chi Minh at about 5pm their time. The sky was getting dark already. Time is 1 hr behind Singapore's. The streets were full of motorbikes. It's really scary. I don't think I would ever dare to cross the street alone because it is just not possible. To cross the road, think people actually biked it across! No one heeds the traffic lights, and they just squirm in and out as they like and sometimes against traffic too! Amazing. With that amount of traffic, of course it's polluted!

We were taken to a water puppet show, which was in Vietnamese. I was almost dozing off. Didn't think it was interesting enough to capture my attention but the concept was interesting in a sense. Puppets playing on water. Not an easy task.

Our dinner was on board a ship and there were vietnamese singing cantonese, chinese, korean songs. I guess the ship is more for tourists. I must say koreans are very enthu people. They danced and sing along and it was hilarious. Had the first of authentic vietnamese food. Not too bad except there's alot of friend stuff and I really didn't expect to see the snort and ears of the suckling pig presented to us for consumption. (Usually restaurants will remove them and just leave the meat around the body area.) The singers were constantly looking for guests to join them in the singing. Gin was asking me what song they were singing so I explained to her by singing along. Imagine my horror when the singer started advancing towards me. I quickly turned away. Gross. We finished our dinner and was waiting to head back to the coach and guess what, the ship started moving!! So we were kind of stuck with the crooning...

26 Nov (Day 2) - First destination was some temple. Then we took on a long drive to Mekong Delta. First we took a bigger boat in a group to a little island, where we were shown how coconut candies were made. Interesting. The people were fast! Then they try to psycho us to buy some tea which tasted weird in my opinion. We walked down the little street with makeshift stalls and I got a nice hot pink hammock. Hopefully can integrate into my new home! We were treated to fruits and I realised Vietnamese loves salt! And salt goes with everything. Best part, the salt is spicy.. Nice! We then take a mini boat ride. By mini it means 4 person max to a boat. Our captain (the front rower) was a granny looking lady and she was super fast and strong. She even caught up with the boat in front of us. I really admire her strength! Both physical and mental man... The boat ride was interesting. We went through narrow rivers with mangrove at the side. Along places which looked like crocs invested. Haha. Then the tiny river opened up to the sea where we came from. And we got on the bigger boat and headed back to the shore we came from.

Lunch was some elephant fish which was a delicacy. There's this meat which they served and tasted really good. I was happily eating when my bro said perhaps it's dog meat. I got a scare and puke out the whole thing. The worse part was at the restaurant, I actually saw dogs in cages and they looked half dead. I asked the tour guide if we were served dog meat and he said it can't be. Said dog meat was super expensive. To play safe, I didn't dare to eat any other meat during the trip. I really got scared. With Tasha's death, the incident somehow affected me more. Hai.

We headed to the presidential palace next, which really didn't look too fantastic. I am rather surprised it's not as grand as it should be. It looked rather retro and outdated, probably because they only had like 2 presidents before and that was a long time ago. The tour guide talked about the president with much dislike. Mentioning how corrupted they are.. well well. We visited a laquer making factory as well. Most of the employees there are handicapped. I'm shocked to find it's so much work to do up at art piece! Of cos Bangkok sells it cheaper but still, it's a really labour intensive job. Some had to be done using duck egg shells and they crushed it according to the art piece they are working on. So it's really time consuming.

We visited Notre Dame Cathedral and Old Saigon Post Office before heading for a dinner which served Hue Imperial Delicacies. It is a nice dinner actually, especially the last dish. This simple soup noodles. Once the chilli and lime were added, the taste was impressive! Thinking about it made my mouth water. Haha. The chilli was so spicy a drop of it would be more than sufficient. It's pretty scary stuff. But nonetheless, delicious!

Some of us went for massage after. I was shocked when the masseuse came. They were dressed in super short skirts at first glance then I realised there are tights beneath. But still, it looked sleazy to me. My session is more of a pinching session than massaging. I came back to the hotel feeling worse than ever. (Not forgetting my legs were still in pain so I went to check my ck levels!)

The missing days Part 1 - 22 to 25 Nov

So I haven't been updating my daily activities as promised. I shall try to recap the dates that were lost!

22 Nov - I have no idea what I did. It was a Sunday and that's as much as I know it!

23 Nov - This was a busy day. I went for a movie with my parents. Watch 2012 at JP and my dad fell asleep at the beginning. Thought the whole show was really scary. The effects are devastating and the imagery is certainly not what I was expecting. Imagine the world ending this way in 3 years. That would be horrifying. It's a little like looking at the 911 incident. Helplessness. Nonetheless, it's a rather good show to watch I must say.

Went to Chee Hoe for a urine test after. Realised my legs have been rather sore for days, such that I couldn't even bend. I had ran a few times, but it's taking too long to heal. Initially wanted to take both blood test (for my ck levels) and urine test (just in case my kidneys are really damaged), but I got there late and blood samples cannot be taken. So took just for kidneys and I am glad to know that they are in proper care.

Headed down to WY's place for soup. His mum was nice enough to cook soup for me. For you know..women soup to assist in bb-making. Hahaha. Then headed down to Jap class. I had missed a week's of class and went down half an hour earlier for speedy make up. And the actual class after. Monday night is not my usual lesson and this teacher is really intensive! I have never spoken that much in my entire course with Nagai Sensei (saturday class)! It's kind of stressful but it's good in a sense. By the time I completed the class I was overwhelmed. It was like 2 lessons in 3 hrs. Peng.

24 Nov - Went brunch with my parents at West Mall. Usual hangout place Mayim. Then met JJ at 1pm at Sakae. It's scary cos I was really gorging myself. Haha. Food after food. Had a nice chat with her. Been quite long since we talked like this. Wanted to head down to the clinic to take blood and I realised I was too late again. The despatch left and blood samples cannot be kept! Wasted. So went down to collect the camera from ZM's place and I saw his twin nieces! Damn cute!!!!! I am so inspired to have twins. They are so adorable.. lucky ZM. Now he has 3 nieces to take care of. Hahaha. Now I shall go find out how to get twins... maybe there's some way or something to customized them. Hohoho.

Headed down to WY's place for a short while before going down to Cityhall to meet Cui. Before that I got her gift from Swarovski. Haha. Nice I think. We had quite a long talk. Had a better idea on her marriage and I'm looking forward to her house-warming! She said it's arty farty and I have no doubt it's gonna be fantastic!

25 Nov - The Primary School called and requested that I head down for a short interview at 845am today. I mentioned I would be flying off for Vietnam but the lady sort of insisted. She said I could come early so I can start on time. Gin followed along since she was staying with me on Thursday. We reached at 830am, imagine my shock when I saw the principal driving off. Next I was told that in the principal's absence, the vice-principal (who is holding the interview) has to attend a meeting she was supposed to go. So I waited...and waited.. and finally.. got my interview 1 hr 15 mins later. Gross. And before that I told the coordinator I was in a hurry and she said if I was busy, I could just skip the interview. Peng! Interview lasted less than 10 mins. At that point I was thinking, if the management couldn't deal with this, how would the children learn since no effective examples were set. Guobin was the third interviewee and he mentioned they could have called to ask him to come a little later. But well, judging from the speed of the interview, it really shouldn't take long. Tsk Tsk. Had to take a cab down to really take the blood test next. Waste of money and time! And CH was nice enough to make the process a painless one. Hah. Vietnam next!

And I am back!

30 Nov - So I am back from Vietnam. Shall update the post about the trip at a later date.

Woke up early and wanted to confirm the interview timing with the company. The coordinator called when I was in Vietnam and requested that I replied the email, and I did so almost immediately. Can see how eager I was right.

Went for brunch with my parents at IMM's Ah Mei. Walked around Daiso after that. So many things to buy for Christmas decorations. And I have finally got an idea what to get for WY. Shall go scouting tomorrow!

My dad drove me down to the interview location after. Had a chat with the Designer, quite a nice guy but I really flunked when he asked me how much I know about the brand. I know, I should have found out. They have lots of brand under them. But I thought he was the designer of another brand I was familiar with. But well, he showed me a brochure and I thought the apparel was fantastic! Anyhow, I'm just hoping they will take me. Fingers-crossed!

Went for dinner with my parents and my maternal aunt at this restaurant called Vanilla Pod. It's located right inside Mandai Orchid Gardens. Quite a nice place. Shall go with WY when he comes back! The steak is highly recommended. Seemed like it's my youngest aunt's 10 year anniversary of marriage. So envy to see them so blissful. With their 3 kids, it's really amazing. And they gave us a treat too! It's weird that we are celebrating with them. Quite extra. Hahaha.

Took the initiative to upload the pics for the Vietnam trip. Not too bad eh.. Hah. I got the approval from WY to shop! So ASOS. Here I come!

"Lots of first" weekend

21 Nov - Woke up early and headed down to Alice & Weijian's wedding. Supposed to meet Cui and her friend at Bukit Panjang Plaza at 830am. Ended up the rest were late. Woke up at 7am and only reached Rasa Sentosa at 1028am. The ceremony was supposed to start at 1030am! (-_-''') Hah.

The wedding was beautiful and it was by the beach (first time attending beach wedding!). Alice and her family had everything done from scratch. Apparently, the hotel didn't provide any decoration with the package, but only a small sea-facing lawn for the ceremony. Heard that cash top ups were needed for additional decorations, which weren't too fancy either. Anyway, the wedding was really dreamy. Alice's dad even had the structure made for the ceremony. You know the one that looks like an arc with flowers? The rest of the family members helped with the tree decor, wishes area decor as well as the flowers decor all around. The hotel did provide a nice door gift - Shell necklaces. Kind of enhanced the event because everyone is now deck in a little sea-sidey accessory.

We proceeded to the ballroom for the lunch reception. Alice and Weijian's friends performed too. One couple sang a sweet love song, another did beat boxing (first time to see a person perform that in a wedding!). Amazing. It's really a blessing to have friends who would do that too. Plus, the newlywed did a really cute and creative photo montage, impressive!

Met Sports Club ppl at Ion Orchard at iCanton (first time!) for dinner. It was Cece's bday so we celebrated for her too. The food is not bad, all I can remembered was the fried carrot cake. Yummy! We discussed about the upcoming christmas celebration too. Qijia as usual, chaired the meeting. Haha. Proceeded to Qijia's new home after (first time! I've only been to the previous home). Not his matrimonial home but his parents' home. Not bad. The existing decor is really nice. It was so funny the way he tried to explain everything to us in a discovery channel way. From his newly bought flat to coffee machines. He should seriously be a real estate agent. Sure can sell lots of houses. This guy even had a miniature done up for his matrimonial home using Lego! Sweet! (first time see people do that...)

22 Nov - Woke up at 530am and started preparing myself for the Special Olympics Help-out at Bedok Reservoir (first time there!). That Sihui overslept and we got in late. Sihui's mum came along too! It was fun though. Got to know a lady called Carol who's really friendly and lovely. We were mainly at one of the water station. And in front of us was this huge reservoir and the breeze was constantly blowing! Sihui's mum decided to go for the walk around the huge reservoir (4.3km) and she hadn't come back when we packed after the event. Sihui's mum was really hard at work. The sun was seriously scorching.

Carol headed back to the main station for a leisure run with the rest of the helpers and Sihui and I headed down to the reservoir area to see if we could catch her mum's location from the fantastic paranomic view. We decided to lay down on the benches for a rest. The floorboards were kind of floating on the water, so we could literally feel us floating together. The feeling was amazing. With the water, and the blueness of the sky, it was just heaven. I will come back again with WY!

Sihui's mum came back and we headed to Tampines mall for lunch. First time had a meal with her mum and Carl's Jr too (first time this year! Wait... in 2 years. Hah). Had a nice time chatting with her. Took a cab back to the West and I headed to Ankur's home (first time!). He's my ex-colleague who is helping me with the demo tape recording. Haha.

He shares an apartment with Rajeev (also an ex-colleague and a close friend of my ex-boss). I walked into the house with my slippers. Funny. (So first time too!) Rajeev has a husky called Buck (first time meeting him!) And... this is the first time I did a recording of my voice professionally. So awkward! I had to sing in the hall with Rajeev and the other roomie (his cousin). It was weird. So basically I had this headphone where music was coming in, and I was singing to this awesome mic which looks like something from a real studio. And Ankur was there adjusting everything on his pc, sort of like synchronizing. Haha. Did 2 songs, and he's gonna do them up nicely before passing them over to me. Nice!

Met mum for quick shopping after and told her about BLP. Had a great time catching up. Next, met Sihui & Guobin for dinner at Swissotel Merchant Court for the crab buffet (finally!!! so first time)! GB just went for some chess tournament lo. That guy is really unique. PF joined us after. I had so much food! And people were really aiming for the crabs! Not even trying out the appetizers first(which had crabs too btw). There were so many different favors and I tried most of them. Recommended, but too bad this is the last day for the promo. Next time!

Anyway, I heard a really shocking news yesterday morning before the wedding. The news came from a really close friend of mine. It's shocking mainly because I wasn't expecting it. The news is a pleasant event, of which I'm really glad. I guess the shocking aspect was the way the news was delivered. This is the first time that happened and I do hope there won't be a second time. It's depressing how I can be blinded to things around, which sort of kept me thinking recently. I'm glad it happened, because I now see some blind spots which I can change into visible events.

I realised a decision of marriage is a commitment, may not the biggest issue for any individual, but, it is definitely one of the most important event in a person's life. And wedding does not equal to marriage, because marriage is a life-time journey and a wedding is a 1 or 2 day event. Marriage may end in divorce, but what keeps people from going that way, is the commitment to sustain it, in an agreeable manner sanctioned by both parties. It cannot be considered a game or a tryout, if so, the notion of dating would be meaningless. True, the future is impossible to foresee, but it is this unforeseeable future, which makes the commitment factor even more important. Marriage is a commitment to stay together no matter what happens. It is this objective that keeps a marriage going, and thus marriage is nothing but a responsibility to the person itself. So what keeps two people together? It is the ability to understand truly what commitment is. Which sadly, many do not realise that.

No sleep days

19 Nov - Had a game of Badminton with Gin and Daji. Think I was perspiring because of the lack of air flow in the court area more than the exercising itself. Hah.

Borrowed the car from WY's family and drove Gin home after. My granny thought we were staying for lunch and went to purchase fish head for curry. So guilty. Told her I'll be back the next day.

Was raining cats and dogs when I got home. Then it started raining giant cats and dogs. The company called and said the interview will be shifted later, which was great because it's not easy to drive in the rain. And the first for today! Driving in huge downpour and being in a jam. Scary!

Interview took over 2 hours for the job of export merchandiser. I'm really crossing my fingers on this. Haha. See how it goes.

Went to the coaching observation after. To be honest, I was a little lost. Ended rather late and plus I waited for Sihui so we only went back at about 2am. Had a quick supper at Alif and headed back to Senja with Sihui. We slept in that tiny mattress and the girl is so conservative about electricity bills, we actually slept without the aircon. Oh my...

20 Nov - Slept for 3 hrs and woke up to return the car to WY's sis. Carried Skylar today and you know what... SHE DIDN'T CRY AT ALL! Amazing! But think she was getting a little heavier. Hah.

As promised, went to my granny house and had her fish head curry. Slept like a twisted pig in the tiny sofa (there was another bigger sofa which will fit my full body length but I am just too lazy...) Was feeling so disoriented. Starting drizzling again and I went home and got changed for spa!

Spa session was not too bad. I tried something slimming.. which meant it was painful! I think it works though. Haha. My tummy feels a little flatter. WAHAHA. Anyways, met Huimin for dinner at IKEA after. (I missed going to IKEA with WY so much!!!) We literally gobbled down our food because I was late, just so we could reach Henderson in time for the Leadership preview.

I was really adamant about joining the Leadership Program. I mean I was really stopping myself from joining, but I just wanted to go and affirm my decision by going to the preview, so I will not think about it once my decision is set. Somehow or rather, I got something out by going. There were some things which I didn't want to face, and I know I'm not pushing myself hard enough. There's some value in the program, but I was sort of hiding from it. Well, I was hurrying Teng Nging to swipe the credit card for the deposit payment before I changed my mind. It is natural that you will change your mind because it's freaking scary!

Well, another day of no sleep before Alice's wedding the next day!

Cookies

18 Nov - Gin and I initially wanted to bake a fudge cake. Ended up we couldn't get the ingredient - FUDGE! So we just made some cookies instead. Recipe is from Gin, whom by the way made most of it. Hahaha. She's great with baking, taught me a little about it even. Hard to imagine she's just 13 years old.

Anyway, the first batch was a boo boo. And second batch was soft-baked. Which was just the way I like it. Haha.

Here are my creations!

Something for WY! A pity he can't eat it now! But I'll make for him when he comes back. There's a cookie kiss at the side too!

And..presenting... Patrick (from Spongebob) cookie! WAHAHAHAHA.

Bored day!

17 Nov - It was a really boring day! So bored that when I saw the weather was good, I went for a run. I'm just dying to get out! This time the rain came after I got back to my granny's. Hah.

Little Kai-ian came to play today. Well, mainly bbsitting for him. He was having his lunch (a very healthy looking sandwich) and was running about at the same time. To encourage him, I told him we would go to Mac's (yes, I was very gien for the monopoly thing) if he behaved. Well, turned out (as with all kids his age), he didn't behaved. So after finally finishing his lunch, he asked for Mac's, which I declined of course.

He kept pestering me, even saying "I beg you please". I said he didn't behaved so we'll not be going. Then he started talking about second chance! I didn't relent and he asked if I could cane him. I was dumbstruck. I said why would I want to cane him, then he sort of mention if I cane him, then that's his punishment and we can go Mac's after. Double Peng! Kids...

Foods!

15 Nov - Was supposed to wake up for church, ended up I woke up late. Went lunch with my parents instead. It's this deli at Tradehub 21 called Ah Lam's. I think they were the original seller of Ah Lam noodles. Food is not bad. Had their abalone soup. The toufu is highly recommended as well. Goes well with rice.

Went my granny's place after and had to rush over to WY's place cos BB Skylar was going to have her hair cut and her hair made into a caligraphy brush! Hmm.. seems like it's quite a popular practice amongst new babies recently. Anyway, the barber came early and when I got there the process was done. So I ended up going back to my granny's place. Had a nice long hilarious chat with my aunts and uncle. Uncle Raymond was nice enough to edit all the pictures he took at the wedding. Haha. So nice of him! He even volunteered to drive Sihui and I to Bugis after! So we got a free ride to meet Peifang.

Peifang wanted to try Wonton Story. This tiny deli which was started by Jules, a coach that we know. The food is good! Shall go with WY when he comes back. I'm not a fan of minced meat noodles, but theirs is super sumptious. Very appetitizing too.

We go on to Ah Chew for dessert! We were early so there were lots of places. Haha. Then Sihui said she wanted some shopping and off we go! Pf and I were crazy about the Macs Monopoly game and I suggested we have a mac at my expense. Haha. Turned out PF got gien and got another meal on her own. So 3 of us started munching off our suppers! Haha.. and I realised I'm like 1 location short for every category. I guess it's the same for everyone. MacDonald's so smart! And I'm the robert they are after. =x

16 Nov - Went early to my granny house in the morning. Started packing only in the morning and I decided to bring a mini luggage. Hahaha. Was lugging the luggage along and the cab driver asked me if I was shifting home (-_-"').

Gin went my granny place too and we went supermarketing after. Bought quite a bit of stuff from Giant at IMM, all in preparation for 2 of Jamie Oliver's receipe!

I was rummaging through my wristlet when I realised I accidentally took WY's Dad's Esso Card. Went jogging with Gin and returned the card to him. The weather was great and the journey from my granny's place (Gombak) to WY's place(CCK) was a breeze. The scary part came when we were on our return journey. It started to rain... And I was so afraid we would be strike by lightning! Singapore has been pretty unpredictable lately you know... Hah.

Came back and tried the receipes and I announce the completion of Spring Vegetable and Bean Soup plus Asian-Styled Steam Salmon! Tasted not too bad but think my granny don't really like it even though I changed her share to cod fish. Hai... But well, think it's not too bad, at least edible. Hah!

P/S: Shall not cook too much of these good fish, cost a bomb!

Fri and Sat - weekends are getting quieter..

13 Nov - I woke up at 530am and met Huimin at 630am. Turned out we were way too early for breakfast at Starbucks, which opens only at 730am! Had my favourite bagel and skinny chai latte. Not too bad to the start of the day.

Went for Soon's class again. This time was the students' final presentation. And what was amazing, they were actually freshies! Man.. I wasn't presenting like this when I was a freshie! Anyway, there was 2 special guests (not me and Huimin of course). These people were started an incubating company. Names are Huge and Ming. Huge is a really interesting guy. British by birth and moved to Singapore just because he liked it here! Used to be a TV series producer, and now an entrepreneur and investor as well. Amazing guy and very inspiring. I should probably brush up on my business plan and let him have a look!

Met DX for lunch after at Quiznos. Man.. I missed it so much. But somehow or rather, it didn't taste as good as I remembered it. =( Headed down to WY's place after, and waited till dinner time when the family and I went Pu Tien at JP again for WY's mum's bday dinner. They were really fast during dinner. Once the food was done, the parents just got up and left. Leaving Yuqin and I waiting at the table for the bill. Rather weird I must say.

Yuqin had to go to Kiddy Palace to get some BB stuff and her dad wasn't too keen to wait around. First time realising this. Thank God WY is not like that. The hurrying was pretty scary. Hah.

14 Nov - Jap class today! Supposed to meet Buddy for Macs early in the morning at 930am, ended up both of us couldn't wake up in time. Pretty usual! Haha. New classmate today, realised she's working at HDB too. Shall recommend her to JJ.

After that headed down to Cousin's Keith gym at Cairnhill Community Centre. Really makes me wonder why there is a CC at Cairnhill. I mean do the people really need it? Hmm.. Anyway the gym is not too bad. But was rather horrifying cos the people there are really big. Like body builders. Including the women! I feel flabby and tiny when I was there. Xiaoyun jioed me to the gym, saying she wants to tone up. And she's already 45kg! She's really working hard to look good for her wedding. I guess I'm the laziest bride around...

Keith trained us around. It was rather tiring. I wasn't used to the equipment, but wasn't too bad. Suspect I'm gonna get aches tomorrow.

Had dinner with my parents. It was a great dinner! Chicken claypot, with minced meat brinjal, vege and pork knuckle (with no fats at all). Nice one~!

So all in all, not much done. I'm trying to stream SNL and it's taking suuuppperrr long. Ah..!

I wanted to reject!

12 Nov - And there I woke up at 1030am and realised my neck was twisted from sleeping. Yes.. again. It happens quite often. Hah. The phone rang and the school called. I was seriously thinking what my answer would be although I pretty much knew I wanted a No, but was too embarrassed to say so. Answered the call, and agreed to head down to do relief "teaching". Hah. Thought to myself, might as well earn 90 bucks than sitting around sending resumes? Haha.

I had only 3 hrs of class today. Not bad! But think i screw up when the kids are heading home. Turned out there was no assembly, and the kids were dismissed from the class. I had no idea they were supposed to go into groups which might determine where they exit, so I was pretty much horrified when I took them in the wrong direction and the kids from another class clashed into us. The teacher was explaining to me about the exit strategy and the kids kept coming up telling me what they knew about the exit strategy. Plus some over-enthusiastic individuals running directly towards the exit. It was chaotic! And hilarious as well though. Could see the teacher wasn't too pleased. I did ask the administrator what was to be done before I started my classes, she just say 随机应便。Peng!

Came home feeling bloody tired. Tomorrow is gonna be another long day ahead! Meeting Huimin for breakfast at 7am! And we're meeting at 620am at JE. Man.. reckoned Soon must have spoke to her about spending time with me. Ahh...Even Meiyee asked me out. These people are really concerned. Now I don't know what to feel. =(

The roadshow

So I braced my courage and went down to this Career Roadshow at Raffles City today. They were having some walk-in interviews, which I weren't very keen. But still, never tried this before so I thought I'd go down and have a look.

I understood the roadshow as a walk-in interview sort of thingy. But I didn't expect a full interview to be done there. The interviews were so long my queue barely moved for the 45 mins I was there. And there were 10+ people in front of me still. I thought it would be a brief interview and get to know session by talking to the people working there only. I thought the roadshow was really inefficient so I shall not disclose which company was organising it. But well, it was from the fashion industry. Hah.

There was this woman who was queuing for another booth. And when I got there, she was already complaining to the guy in front of her, who was there for the walk-in interview as well. Could see he felt really awkward. Another 45 mins into the queue, the woman got fed up and yelled at one of the organising helpers. She said it wasn't right she had to wait this long for an interview. She was practically screaming. She should have just left. I wouldn't think she'll get the job even when she got her turn. Hah. It was a pretty scary experience though.

Met with DX and watched Michael Moore's new documentary, Capitalism - A love story. It's not bad, gave some insights into the administration of the US government. Michael Moore always has this sarcarstic humor approach, so it's a slightly entertaining documentary. Now all eyes are gonna be on Goldman Sachs! The big earners! Oh, I should probably send a resume over. Hah.

Start living.

10 Nov - Woke up at 515am today and got ready to go for Relief Teaching! First time going to a school not as a student but as a teacher. It was really weird when I was standing at the parade square singing the national anthem and saying the pledge. How long has it been since I did this? Almost 8 years!

Was doing relief teaching for Primary 6 kids. They had finished their exams and had pretty much nothing to do. And I really wonder why they are in school for. Wouldn't it be better if they are at home doing the stuff they like? I mean 1-2 weeks of playing cards is fine but more than a month?!

Anyway, it's not really teaching. They just needed someone to maintain some order. I didn't think I did a great job for all the classes (some were really difficult to control!), but I had fun with some classes. Was chatting and playing games. Kids are really curious creatures. =)

Went for lunch with Sihui & Guobin after and headed home directly. Guobin was called up for relief teaching as well. Sihui later commented the school administrator asked if he was interested to do this permanently! She didn't asked me. So disappointed... =(

Was totally burned out after the 5.5 hrs of school. I know! It's only 5.5 hrs. But it's really tiring! Not too sure why though. Slept from 5pm till 630pm and headed down to Bugis to meet Eileen and Peifang after. Had a nice dinner at NYDC. Been ages since I've been there. Nice catching up too! Peifang and I were chatting non-stop on the way back. It's nice to finally get to know her. We have been in the same clique for years and it's this year when we finally talked more. Amazing!

Finally wrapped up the Jamie Oliver's book in plastic! To protect the book mah.. haha. Can't wait to use it next week! Did something else I wasn't expected to do today. Decided to write my own bucket list. Included some crazy/scary things, but not too crazy/scary. Only in my opinion they are crazy/scary enough. Hah.

I can't wait to see WY's bucket list. Would like to see if there are any similarities. Realised the list is getting longer and longer and I'm not getting anywhere nearer. That means I'm super far from the events/things that will make my life fulfilling, and yet I do not know when my end of days are near.

Read a book today (I shall introduce this book at a later date). The author says "It would be foolish to be frightened by death, because all of us, sooner or later, are going to die. And only those who accept this fact are prepared for life."

Not too deep to understand eh? =)

The days of minimum sleep!

8 Nov

Drove Yuqin down to Henderson today. Slept for 2+ hrs again. Waited for her at Henderson for about 2.5 hrs in the morning. Was thinking perhaps they will end at 1am, ended up it was 330am! And, I was back at Henderson in less than 6 hrs for her third day of TCC.

Helped out with TCC today. Reached at about 5pm. The whole session ended at 530am on Monday! It was a heartwarming experience nonetheless. I'm really glad Yuqin went for it. So that just leaves... WY? =p

9 Nov
So I slept at 6+ in the morning! Woke up at 12pm and realised I was going to be late for lunch with Brandon. Went lunch with Brandon at Citihall. Had lunch at Aerins and there were serving 1+1 pasta. Not too bad. Collected my surprise gift from WY after. He had a delivery man, which I'm not obliged to say who. I'm so touched! The scarf is so nice! Went shopping after. Got quite a bit of nice clothes. I know I'm not supposed to shop, but I swear this is the first and last for the month! Hah.

Met with my parents for dinner too. And now I'm waiting for WY to come online so I can see his face. And I can't wait! Oh he's here!!!!

Housekeeping day

7 Nov - I drove around today again. It was Henderson, then to CCK, then to Orchard, then to Henderson, then to Bt Timah! And I reached back only at 3pm! Oh, drove to Vivo for supper too! I'm starting to think my sense of direction is not that bad. Hah.

Did nothing for the whole day. Didn't had an afternoon nap although I slept for only 2 hours the previous night. Was feeling pretty energetic the whole day too! Ran again on my own, felt super refreshed after.

BB Skylar don't recognize me again today. Sad... which means she cried quite a bit. I'm more of a problem maker than solver. Supposed to help carrying her and such, ended up make her cry so much that she needs more attention pacifying her. Bad...

This weekend shall be rather quiet. Hmm...

Saturday, November 07, 2009

There's something about Skylar...

Before I forget. Little Skylar always has the habit of sucking one of her arms when she sleeps. Guess what her granny calls them? Erm.. I mean the arms. She calls them Skylar's lotus roots! 莲藕!

See the resemblance?? Hah.

Drive drive drive...

6 Nov - I drove alot again! But this time I drove in jams! Something I never thought I would do seriously.

Sent Yuqin, WY's sis, to TCC today at the Henderson Compound. The place is quite cool. Really look like an office albeit in an ulu ulu place. Became the milk lady and collected milk for the bb as well. Finally managed to hold Skylar without her crying. And I found out something about her - she's not too keen on Veggie Tales =(

Went to Sihui's grandma's wake too. Drove to Sin Ming, encountering a massive jam. First time driving to places so far. It's not something I'm proud of though. I wouldn't want to drive to a wake. I wouldn't want a friend to attend any wake if you get what I mean.

I realised I've been driving a lot lately. Frankly speaking, I don't like it at all. I mean I like it that I finally have the courage to drive around freely on my own, but with me driving, it just means that WY isn't here. I'm not blaming him, but I seriously thought I could have coped better. Apparently, the tears that came while driving back proved me wrong. JJ said I am coping very well with his absence, and I wonder how I managed to showed that part to people. I just can't wait for him to be back.

I'm staying at his parents' place over the weekend. Could not get the sofa bed (our bed) out into a bed. Was feeling so exasperated, and I finally got it right after so many tries. His mum thought I could not get used to the mattress that she offered as an alternative when I couldn't get the bed up. But I just wanted to feel close to WY.

The Meetups 2

Did nothing much. Woke up late in the morning and headed to WY's house after. Realised Skylar is still crying as much when she saw me. This is bad... Thankfully, at the end of it, she managed to smile a little when I was talking to her. That was after I started chatting for a really looooong time with her mum!

5 Nov
Met up with Zhengying, my cousin whom I haven't met for almost a year! Gin was with us too. Had lunch at Din Tai Fung, after which Zhengying left for work and Gin and I went out on our own. We watched Astro Boy, which is surprisingly good and got some books I wanted from the library. Money saved!

Tried something unexpected today! We actually took neoprints! (I wonder if they are still called that???) The last time I took them was when I was in JC, like 8 years ago. She was really fast in decorating the picture we took! And seriously, the pictures taken were initially quite ugly. I was rather pale (because of the horrendous headache and nausea I was experiencing the whole night!) and the pictures just look plain on the screen. Imagine my surprise when the photos were printed out. Think they enhanced my face or something. I actually looked radiant! It's like they colored some concealer under my eyes, even out my skin tone, and added some fake eyelash. Hah. Amazing!

Today was dad's birthday. Had a simple dinner ex my brother who had something on at the gym. Started purchasing the items that WY requested, so I can send an 爱心包over. Hah. Be prepared for some surprises!

and finally...

I got to see WY's face! When the web cam started appearing, I actually cried. Don't see his face still not that bad. Oh man... I missed him soooo much!

All of these in a whole day...

3 Nov - Finally cleared my dry laundry today, and my wardrobe is bursting! Time to clear out what I don't need next. Once I get the go-ahead to have the flea market set up!

Finally check out the Loopz DVD. Tried out some of the exercises, and they are grueling! Was perspiring like mad after a few moves, found it quite useful after all.

Met up with Possum and treated her to a dinner at Tao's. Standard dropped quite a bit. Didn't really enjoy it. And how I envy her. She's going to Hokkaido next Sat for 16 days! Good for her!

I'm still trying to confirm the Cambodia trip at the end of the month. Can't wait to see the Tuol Sleng Museum and the killing fields. Something which I've always wanted to visit ever since I read about the Khmer Rouge Regime many years back. Horrifying!

Bought Jamie Oliver's Ministry of Food! Interesting recipes and best of all, they are simple recipes! The sub heading reads "Anyone can learn to cook in 24 hours". How encouraging!

I shall try the recipes in the book! And WY comes back, I can cook for him dish by dish. Hah. I'm so inspired by Julie & Julia!

Non IT-diot

2 Nov - I think I'm a genius. Successfully downloaded the Trend Micro, and I removed it and I think the refund is still being processed! Haa. I got an even better deal, can protect 3 PCs at one go! And for a cheaper price, and looks like the installation is perfect!

Met Cui for KFC and headed down to WY's place to assist in looking after the bb Skylar. Not much done, she was falling asleep when I got there. But well.. some damage done. Realised she don't really like me. Kept crying when she saw my face. So horrible meh?! Peng. Quite scary to see her wail. She sounded like she was in pain. Sad.

Anyway, quite an accomplished thing done today..by my standards that is. Hah. Shall see if WY is able to download his share tomorrow!

IT-diot

1 Nov - WY has always been my IT technician. He's into this full time, so much so that I'm unable to comprehend my own PC now. Very outdated person I must say. I can't even manage a renewal subscription on the Trend Micro. I bought the renewal online, and sad to say, it's still appearing with the expiry date as today. I spent almost 2 hours trying to figure out what went wrong...Gross.

Anyway, at least it's a first attempt to manage this PC. Already sent a message to TrendMicro on the trouble shooting. Hopefully things will get settled, then I can purchase another one for the netbook, but of course this round, successfully!

Not too good a day =(

31 Oct - I hate to say this but today was a really bad day to come to think of it...

Wanted to go to Sentosa's Spooktacular and the event was sold out. Then went Clark Quay and the queue to Zirca was bloody long. Before that went WY's place and baby Skylar was crying non-stop. I'm seriously thinking it's because of me. Next, when I was going to take a cab home from his place, bloody freaking idiots start appearing everywhere on the stretch of road. They must be bloody blind to not see me waving my hand desperately. If they are going to give an excuse to say that they didn't see anyone, then OPEN your bloody eyes and use your stupid brain to focus on human form trying to flag for a cab before you start flagging down any on your own. 5 bloody non-gracious Singaporeans went before me and took the cab. 5! On the same stretch of road. I did the classy ungracious thing by rubbing my chin with my middle finger while the cab drove past me with one of the bloody blind passengers. Then when another lady tried to flag down my cab, (and mind you, she just appeared suddenly in front of me), I gave her my most angry stare. Thankfully, the cab uncle saw me and stopped in front of me. Seriously when I saw her coming towards my cab, I was almost ready to pounce. It's OK for one or two person to do that, but 5?! And all at the same time...

Next.. Citibank! We requested for pin number for both WY's card and my card, and they only sent in mine, and without his. WY took the card with him for use on his trip. I checked my card's statement and realised that the amount is more than I expected, and I'm pretty sure WY didn't use his card till today. As a careful consumer, I'm unreluctant to pay for the excess until I can verify the details of the purchase. So I called using all the data he has provided to access the account, and they refused to let me through even though I could answer the verification questions. After much donging, the manager called and said what she could do is to call WY and verify if it's OK to send a pin change by mail so I will know and then able to access his account. (Note that we already requested for the pin change before he left, and they only sent in mine.) I don't really see the point in this since the number they have on record isn't even his mobile number. It was mine, which means I had to give them a mobile number to call and verify. And I could jolly well give any number I like. And they call this verification... How great a solution is that?!

Someone had to drop a big ending to the end of the day. I'm trying my best to sort everything out with limited information that was provided, limited access to information and then to be told in a way which meant "someone else with the same limited resources could do it in a nicer way". Pardon me for my outburst, because it is actually tiring to be running to and fro just trying to obtain information and spending time with people that are important to you.

The meetups1

30 Oct - Skipped Soon's SMU class today. Turned out the Head of Research for Microsoft was a guest today. Wasted!

Met Gin at Orchard for movies and borders shopping. Turned out we didn't get a thing at Borders! Watched 3D Coraline. Must say it's the scariest animation I ever watched! Show was slow, but OK. I thought it was a little draggy and plot was pretty predictable, but Gin thought it was good. I must be the wrong target audience. But I seriously think it's too scary for kids 5 and below. One of them was crying and yelling beside me...

Met childhood friends Xiaoyun and Xiaoping after that. They are cousins of Lily. Which means they are my cousins' cousins. Like WY and I. Hohoho. Haven't met them for over 10 years! We all still looked the same though, just all grown up and into different occupation. I mean them.. I'm unemployed. Hah. Xiaoyun, the elder sis is a teaching assistant with an international child care centre and Xiaoping is the Assistant Producer of a film management company. She was late and guess who drove her down to meet us? Xiangyun! One of her star-ish friends.

It was a great meet up! And we have arranged to meet up more too! Quite a nice lazy Friday today. But I'm glad I accomplished one more thing! Finished memorizing the kataganas! All in a journey's time from Bukit Batok to Redhill. My destination was Orchard, but I finished memorizing them before I reached Orchard. Fast learner eh! Hahaha!

Mother in the making!

29 Oct - Headed to WY's place to collect the car. Initially wanted to just take the car keys and head off. Ended by playing with Baby Skylar. I'm proud to say I carried her for close to 1 hr! Good training for next week!

Called my granny to remind her we were going shopping and have a look at my new place today. Turned out she wasn't feeling well and the trip was cancelled. I decided to collect the NTUC vouchers instead (freebie from the Panasonic refrigerator that WY's mum kindly got for us!

Drove on my own to Bukit Merah and collected the free gift. I am so proud of myself! Always had this fear of driving alone to places I've never been to, turned out it was not too bad. Checked the time and decided to pick Gin (my 13 year old cousin) up from Crescent Girls. First time going to the school, and I'm driving! Hah. Sent her some text msgs, and she didn't reply, so I tried my luck! Thank God I caught her before she strolled out of the school compound, if not my trip would be wasted.

We drove to IKEA and had a nice lunch. Bought some home stuff as well - 2 wastepaper basket and 2 chairs. Sent Gin home and we went Jurong Point together. And I drove there too! But funny thing happened, I got us lost for 30 mins while trying to find the right directions to JP. Got into a shock when I drove into the checkpoint of Jurong Island. I must be super far off. Gin must be freaked!

Next, took her to Senja to deposit my new stuff and showed her around. Returned the car, and then we headed to Granny house before changing out to go for a jog! Was so tired but I'm so glad I ran the 4km.

Went back to granny's place for a quick dinner before my parents drove us back. And now I'm writing this, I'm proud to say I've done quite a bit of my Japanese language revision! Something which I have been procrastinating.. Bad bad bad. I'm lagging behind and the stuff is getting more confusing. But at least, the revision helped! Greatly! Konban nihongo o benkyoushimasu !今晩日本語を勉強ます!

So quite a lot of things done today, quite an accomplishment. Spent the day with family! Of course, the driving. I really drove a lot! Feels funny to drive a kid from school and to feed a baby. Hah. Mother in the making!

Daddy's back!

28 Oct - Got a call from Catherine to go down for relief teaching and I rejected. This is the second call this week and second time I've rejected. I'm really worried she won't call again. Looks like I have loads planned ahead. Hah. Not very good for last minute relief teaching notice really. Damn! Nearly strike that off my to-do list!

Went Pu Tien with my family. Dad came back from China today. Had a freaking expensive lunch. Tried Da4 Zha2 Xie4 (some type of crab) for the first time, turned out they are just full of roe... Not anything exciting. And really tiny (which means minimal meat)!

Alright, I did something unexpected today! Drove my dad's car. The camry has been around for sometime, but I was really apprehensive about the gigantic size! And I decided to drive my parents and I down to IMM and back! Initially I had problems reaching the brakes and accelerator, and I almost gave up! However, after fidgeting with the adjust buttons for a very long time, we finally manage to adjust the seat to my height, albeit, I still can't really see the front, but at least I could touch the brakes and accelerator. Hah. But my aggarration was good.... =p

Tomorrow and the day after are well planned days. Let's hope Catherine doesn't call... I really hate to reject people. =X

The experience of an almost private screening

27 Oct - So I got up a little later than expected. Procrastinated about waking up because I needed to go to the gym, so that I have enough time to head back home and get washed up before meeting Brandon at Citihall. Ended up lugging my barang barang to Amore at JP, so I can shower at the gym to save time.

Ran 3km on the threadmill, tried out all sorts of gym equipment, basically exercising the target areas. I was panting when I was running, which is not too good. Auntie must be visiting!

Met Brandon for nice lunch at Soup Spoon and finally collected the SKII purchase from my cousin at Raffles Place. Coincidentally met up with a POS mate Yili! Hah.

Today's special was to watch a movie alone. And I'm proud to say I did! Caught Julie & Julia alone at West Mall. Good price at 7 bucks! I headed into the theatre 5 mins early, knowing Eng Wah starts ON TIME. And guess what... I was totally alone! That idea initially unnerved me but I gradually warmed up to the idea of sitting in the dark...in a huge space...and paying 7 bucks for a private screening. Then DAMN! Some came late and headcount increased - to about 5. Not too bad...but funny thing... they all sat in like 1 corner. The top corner. I had the best seat in the house! And most of them came alone, except for a couple. Hah!

Went Granny place after for dinner, heard her yakkity yak about the maid.... hai. Tried to change the topic and we talked about the husky ICE. That was a better conversation. Will be doing something with her on Thursday and I am looking forward!

Fourth uncle came to visit too and I got a free ride home! Hahaha!

The most difficult sunny side up ever...

26 October - Heard from DX that eggs can be microwaved. She convincingly told me her sunny side ups every morning are done using the microwave. She said to prevent the egg from popping and messing up the microwave, I gotta pop the yoke membrane. And I decided to try it out today. Was relishing a sunny side up on my korean spicy mushroom ramen!

First thing, was rather amazed egg could be cooked in a minute. Next thing, I realised with the poked membrane, they still pop! Gross. Took the second egg, and this time, I poked the egg white membrane as well. Hoping that this time, I'll make a good sunny side up without dirtying the microwave. You know..just in case I heard wrong. Maybe DX said poke every part of the egg. And verdict was.... it still pops!

Lesson of the day - Never attempt a sunny side up in a microwave unless you are prepared to clean the microwave. (-_-''')

Finally told WY's mum that I'm currently not working. Hah. Felt good to get it off my chest. But she seems to understand it in a different way. But well.. at least I got it off. No more hiding and pretending to be working! Hah.

The time is not wasted!

Been ages since I last blog. Officially had my last day at the bank on 15 Oct, and has been spending sometime with Wenyao, until he left for work on 20 Oct. Since then, I've been busy catching up with things that I've been procrastinating. It is important to look for another job, but most importantly, I must make sure my time hasn't been wasted, i.e. just catching up on shows the whole day! Hah.

Anyway, here's the update.

16-18 Oct
Bintan trip with Wenyao. I'm thankful there's a trip before he leaves for work. Did nothing much there but it was time very well spent. We actually spent 4 hours watching a Hindi movie when we were there!

19 Oct
Spent time with WY and his family. Had a reunion dinner that was 4 months early!

20 Oct
Sent WY off, and started clearing my room. And I mean clearing - the desk, the shelves and even the curtains. And not forgetting the laundry. It was a rather domestic day. Met with Cui too. Had 2 dinners that night!!! We had KFC followed by snacks at this prata place. Sinful! Best part was we did a lot of quality catching up!

21 Oct
Caught up with Naruto! Has been ages since I watched and I'm many episodes behind. Had a free movie with Ashley at Vivo, and free movie was proudly brought to us by the bank. Haha. It was weird when I saw the the SVP, even more when I saw Kit, from another dept, who kindly offered me a job at his dept, and which I politely declined. Oops.

22 Oct
Met up with Soon at Parkway Parade! Damn far lah...but... it was a nice experience. Been ages since I traveled to the area. They even have a borders! *Mountain turtled* Had a nice chat with Soon, who is a great mentor btw, and he made me come out with the list of things I want/need to do for the next few weeks/months! Ahhhhh...!

23 Oct
Crashed Soon's class at SMU. His lecture was fun! The dynamism was there, so much spontaneity and the class were allowed a space where imagination was infinite! I wished my lectures were that way in NUS. Participated in their discussion and feedbacked during their presentation. He introduced me as his guest and guess what, said I recently quit my job at a bank and is looking to work in the fashion industry. Haha. Nice way to put it. He invited me for crashing next week too! Had spa and waited for Sihui for 2 hours! She got the time mixed up so I went to the library for 2 hours instead. Time wasn't wasted, read cookbooks, interior design books, travel books. Found out I couldn't travel to Turkey in Feb next year. Shall look for another destination. Sihui treated me (for making me wait 2 hrs!) at Pu Tien at JP. Great stuff! Highly recommended!

24 Oct
After Jap Class, met up with Daixing for lunch at Borders. Watched "My Sister's Keeper". People were sniffing, it was a tear breaker. Slow but not too bad. (Please prepare lots of tissue if you're watching it! DX prepared for me, so nice of her. Hah.) Went East Coast for blading for almost 2 hours after. Had Popeye chicken at Singapore Flyer after. Quite a fulfilling day! DX had an exciting time driving though, with my sudden directions which requires her to change 4 lanes at one time, and of course, my habit of pointing to the right but saying left. Haha.

25 Oct
Went facial with my mom and headed back to our home (Senja). Realised it took only 9 minutes to walk from Bukit Panjang Plaza to our apartment, and that's really fast!!! Haha. Started cleaning up the house when I got there. Sicong, Daji and Daixing came after, and we had 3 hours of guitar hero. Realised the bottles of coke we had in the fridge was spilling. Thank God 3 of them were there to help me clean up!!! After Guitar Hero, we packed the whole set into SC's car and headed to "Da4 Shu4 Xia4" for dinner. Been wanting to try the food there and it was really not easy to find. The place has the nickname because there's this gigantic tree. Haha. The food is not too fantastic I must say. Chatted about New Year's Eve party and came out with a theme. This is going to be exciting!

I hope each day time is not wasted. Although I'm technically not working, truth is, I'm really working on my life here. When one ex-colleague from the bank bid me farewell on 15 Oct, she actually said "Enjoy your life". I might just do that. =)

T'was a girl - A tribute

T'was a girl
of great charm.
T'was a girl
of blessed calm.
T'was a girl
who brought cheer
to everyone around her.
T'was a girl
who loved.
T'was a girl
whom everybody loved.
Dads, grams, gramps, aunts.
Uncles, kids, teachers, mums.
Strangers, yes strangers.
Found her a child of charm.
The girl brought laughter
to everyone dear.
And everyone dear
was everyone to her.
If time allowed,
and the girl grew well
In what would have been
A lady of sweet sixteen.

The Garden - Shel Silverstein

Saw this poem recently and thought it was really meaningful. It's a poem by Shel Silverstein and he wrote it for children. From an adult's point of view, it truly has a different meaning. Enjoy!

Ol' man Simon, planted a diamond,
Grew hisself a garden the likes of none.
Sprouts all growin', comin' up glowin',
Fruit of jewels all shinin' in the sun.
Colors of the rainbow,
See the sun and rain grow
Sapphires and rubies on ivory vines,
Grapes of jade, just
Ripenin' in the shade, just
Ready for the squeezin' into green jade wine.
Pure gold corn there,
Blowin' in the warm air,
Ol' crow nibblin' on the amnythyst seeds.
In between the diamonds, ol' man Simon
Crawls about pullin' out platinum weeds.
Pink pearl berries,
All you can carry,
Put em' in a bushel and
Haul em' into town.
Up in the tree there's
Opal nuts and gold pears-
Hurry quick, grab a stick
And shake some down.
Take a silver tater,
Emerald tomater,
Fresh plump coral melons
Hangin' in reach.
Ol' man Simon,
Diggin' in his diamonds,
Stops and rests and dreams about
One...real...peach.

Nightminds - Missy Higgins

Just lay it all down
Put your face into my neck and let it fall out
I know, I know, I know
I knew before you got home
This world you're in now
It doesn't have to be alone
I'll get there somehow, 'cause
I know, I know, I know
When even springtime feels cold

But I will learn to breathe this ugliness you see
So we can both be there
And we can both share the dark
And in our honesty, together we will rise
Out of our nightminds, and into the light
At the end of the fight

You were blessed by
A different kind of inner view
It's all magnified
The highs would make you fly
But the lows make you want to die
And I was once there
Hanging from that very ledge where you are standing
So I know, I know, I know
It's easier to let go

But I will learn to breathe this ugliness you see
So we can both be there
And we can both share the dark
And in our honesty, together we will rise
Out of our nightminds
And into the light at the end of the fight

And in our honesty, together we will rise
Out of our nightminds
And into the light at the end of the fight

A typical fit

She explains
the queries i had on
issues i couldn't
comprehend.
He cuts in and further
mix plans.
My trying to get things right
seemed unclear
to both him and her
when it's just a simple issue
of a mobile transfer.
It's things like that
that gets you into a fix.
A situation between
a couple betwixt marriage
and a customer service officer
a stranger in the mix.
Until the 'Oh just shut up'
comes from the lady
to the man
who just got her the ring.
Sometimes i wonder what's
got into this
that caused so much commotion
that's so hard to fix.
Was it the mobile, the lady
or a missing speech.

From one of my favourite book.

"Sanity is not statistical."
- George Orwell, 1984, Book 1, Chapter 9
